I know in the past, I have made deals with myself to try to lose the weight, go to the gym, I know how to eat healthy, what to eat more of and what to avoid. But did I do it??? Not really, I would try, I would make an attempt, I would have the best intentions, but I would fail time and time again. I tried, pills, supplements, weight watchers, Herbal Magic, SlimFast, Apple Cider pills, protein powders, portion control, high protein diets, low carb diets, talked to my doctor too, took appetite suppressants, Beverly Hills Weight Loss, exercise you name it, aside from surgery I tried it. So, what was missing?? The lack of willpower?? No I don’t think so, I have been clean and sober for almost 17 years, I know about willpower, and avoiding things that will hurt me, I know how to take control of my cravings and my life, but why did nothing else work?

Well, there are a couple of reasons, the first being, it obviously wasn’t time for me to get serious, I needed to hit a certain breaking point before I could really make the decision to get healthy. Much the same as the alcoholic, who before they can truly get clean and sober, must hit rock bottom. What is rock bottom?? What does it look like?? Well, for me, in this particular journey, it was staring at me every day in my bathroom mirror, this face, my face, getting puffier and puffier, my arms getting bigger, my waist increasing, the lack of desire to look at myself in the mirror. There were other signs too, lack of energy, lack of ambition, lack of desire, negativity the list goes on and on. Many of you have experienced that same things. The other reason, why nothing else worked, was actually quite simple,  it didn’t fit into my lifestyle. Excuse?? Possibly, but that’s the reality, dieting just didn’t fit into my lifestyle. I am also a LOVER of food, good food, rich food, sweet food, salty food, shit I’m in the food industry, I cook for a living, how do you not eat it?? Sample?? Indulge? But the bottom line is I LOVE FOOD, I don’t believe I am a food addict, as I had traveled that train of thought for a period of time.

What’s different this time?? The product, yes, the company, yes, me – MOST DEFINITELY , I WANT IT NOW!!! I don’t want to die before all my girls are grown and married, with babies, I want to see grandbabies, and great-grandbabies, but I definitely was NOT going to get there doing the things I was doing. So, when OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS …. eventually YOU TAKE IT and RUN!! Which is EXACTLY what Peter and I have done. We saw the opportunity to change our lives FOREVER, to get healthy, to teach our kids to be healthy, to love life, and honestly FALL IN LOVE with each other all over again. Does this sound like a line to you?? It possibly does, because it’s definitely a different side of Krista, than most of you are used to seeing, but this is ME, I want to live, today I CHOOSE LIFE!!! I truly can’t see myself stopping until I have reached all my goals, all of my goals, to improve my HEALTH, LIFE and PROSPERITY!! And I AM loving every minute of it. Does that mean I don’t falter from time to time … heck ya I’m human, I’m not a robot, but today, instead of letting it get me down, I just brush off the dirt and get back on the ride of a lifetime. I have a picture in my mind today of what a year from now looks like … and it is so different from what I see in front of me today!! I’m excited, and I wish I could share even a portion of my excitement with each and every one of you.

I am not on a diet, I’m on a total lifestyle change, body mind and spirit. Am I losing weight and inches, HELL YA I am, but it is so much more than that. Its about living life to the fullest, about changing the old records that are out of date and taking up way too much space in my mind, it’s about letting my spirit and trusting in a God, much greater than me, to lead me. Today I can look at myself in the  mirror, and see the beginning of the person I WANT TO BE, —- ME!! Today, I am taking control of my life, and changing it in a way that wasn’t possibly 99 days ago, it wasn’t even on my radar of possibilities!! AMAZING!!!! One simple challenge – has changed my life FOREVER. Changed the way I look at the world, the people I meet everything, and I can promise you this, it’s a change I wasn’t really even looking for, an opportunity that I didn’t really think was possible. BUT there came a KNOCK and I answered!!! I wasn’t looking for a sign … but I FOUND ONE!!!

Actually, that’s the thing I love the most about the challenge (other than the results), is the simplicity of it. Peter and I are crazy busy parents of 4 girls at home, one away from home, the girls are all soccer players, etc, we are on the move all the time, and the challenge has allowed us to STOP the INSANITY of the Drive Thru windows!!! When Dr. Witherly and I created the shake, we wanted to create the perfect ‘meal’ to help people build and maintain lean muscle, burn fat, and feel healthier.   The Tri-Sorb protein blend is a unique blend of highly absorbable proteins. First we use non-GMO soy that has been processed to remove isoflavones that can impact estrogen. Why soy? It is a complete protein, easily digested, and adequate consumption can help the body reduce cholesterol and c-reactive protein. Studies show that soy can build lean muscle as good, and in some studies better than whey proteins.   We then use a whey concentrate, and the newest technology in whey hydrolysate. This is the most concentrated and ‘clean’ protein on the market today, and is very expensive. The key reason is it builds lean muscle. The FDA allows it to be called a ‘fat loss accelerant’ as a result..the only protein that can use that claim. Our proteins have been specially processed to remove fat, lactose, and carbs.   We add in the Aminogen, a patented and clinically tested amino acid to aide protein absorption. Many body builders buy this product in nutrition stores to aid their body. We include it.   The key is that not all proteins are created equal. If you read the nutritional labels, some will use gelatin to ‘spike’ the grams of protein. Gelatin is great for skin and hair, but not so good at building muscle. This year is going to be so different for the Moore Family, than any other year, this is the year we are going to get HEALTHY together as a family, we are going to start LIVING life instead of watching it pass us by and we are going to experience prosperity for the first time ever!! We have big dreams for 2012, and there is only ONE way to get there – work hard, run hard, and play hard together as a family. Today, the Moore’s will let NO ONE stand in the way of their dreams of the future. Our lives started changing 83 days, when Peter and I started our first 90-day challenge with Body by Vi. We have lost weight, inches, gained energy, confidence and the beginning of a total lifestyle change. 2012 is going to be lived out in 90-day increments to meet each one of our goals for our family!! We are going to live stronger and laugh louder together as a family!! We are going to work together, play together, dance together and love together. We will succeed in our goals because we know today that WE CAN DO IT!!! Nothing is going to stand in our way, because as a family united with a common goal we will be an unstoppable force. 2012 the year of

… RETIREMENT!!!!

Today we are off to Toronto to spend the day with Auntie Anna-Lyn, Uncle Drew and Baby Zara (who really isn’t a baby anymore seeing as she’s 2 – but she will always be Baby Zara to us). But before we hit the road, I need to get some of my shopping done for the weekend!!

Since I’m up and somewhat coherent this early on a Saturday morning I thought I would check out the Saturday Morning Farmers Market – need some veggies and fruit for our road trip.

I’m super excited for the next “stop” on my list of errands for today to Downie Street Bake House, for some Sunflower Bran Bread and Twist & Shout. Barb and Alan have been jet setting around the globe since the Savour Stratford Weekend, in Paris, a much deserved vacation, but they have definitely been missed in my house!! Well, Barb and Alan have never actually been to my house LOL, but their incredible bread has been!! Yeah ok a little “flighty” this morning, geesh it’s early!!

The next stop will be at Your Local Market Co-Op, to pick up some wonderful fabulous custom ordered brownies from the bakery extraordinaire, Katelyn Vere!! Auntie Anna-Lyn, has some food tolerances that make baking a little difficult from time to time, so on one of my many stops to the YLMC, I spoke with Katelyn about some “options”. Auntie AL, can’t have wheat, dairy or soy, so almost vegan, not by choice but for health reasons, if she avoids these three things, she’s not trying to scratch her hands off!! So Katelyn, is making us some Wheat Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free brownies for out Thanksgiving Feast in Toronto today!! I also learned this week, that an Avocado, is a baking substitute for soy or butter — HOW COOL IS THAT???

My fourth and final stop before hitting the wide open road will be to Revel Caffe, for a little quiet time. I haven’t had a ton of time to spend at my favorite little caffe this week, so I’m looking forward to some Me Time!!

What a fantastic finish to a brilliant season, the girls played their hearts out on those last 2 weekends in particular, they left it all on the field!! Team work at it’s finest, ahhhhh life was good!! The girls got to shave Coach Mike’s head, we went for a team meal together at the Diner, good stuff!! Here are some pictures from the “final” day!!

And that ends the 2011 Soccer season!!

With another season behind us, it’s time to start to prepare for the 2012 Season, tryouts started this past weekend … Sept. 24-25!! Ekks life never stops!!

The government is trying to ram through an anti-Internet set of electronic surveillance laws that will invade your privacy and cost you money. The plan is to force every phone and Internet provider to surrender our personal information to “authorities” without a warrant.

• Invasive and Dangerous: The laws leave our personal and financial information less secure and more susceptible to cybercrime.
• Costly: Internet services providers may be forced to install millions of dollars worth of spying technology and the cost will be passed down to YOU.

If enough of us speak out now the government will have no choice but to stop this mandatory online spying scheme.

What a week!!

Starting with my littlest peanut heading off to school for the first time to Junior Kindergarten, leaving me at home with an empty nest. It was a big week for Keisha, she had 3 days of school, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and I have to say she handled it like a champ. Monday night she did fall asleep early on the couch after dinner, while watching a movie and snuggling with me, she had about a 40 minute power-snooze, and then it was up for stories, bathtime and back to bed – best part she slept all night in her own bed!! Ha!! Small miracles, I will take them!! Tuesday morning was a little “tense” because she was NONE to happy about not going back to school, this was a constant battle with Mya, last year as well, wanting to go everyday!! Mya has been doing very well this year, I think she is really enjoying being the “big” sister with Keisha in her class!! I love that they are in the same class together!!

Danielle and Olivia have survived their 2nd week of school, and I’m happy to report that the homework was kept to a dull roar this week Danielle (Grade 8) typically has about 20-30 minutes of Math every day, and she was thrilled to report tonight at dinner that her first quiz mark was 85%!!! SO very proud of how hard my girly works!! It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the girls change, and grow up. Gone is the girl that lost her own head from the upstairs of the house to the downstairs, today she’s actually starting to “get it” together!! I wasn’t sure I would ever see the day!! LOL!! And what a tremendous help she is, from watching her sisters, to drying the endless supply of dishes, to helping with lunch packing!! The fun part for me, is getting to do it with her and teach her while we are doing these little everyday jobs!! This morning, the plan was to pack leftover garlic noodles for everyone for lunch, however, when it came time to find them … HA … key word there, FIND them!!! Well, we couldn’t find them in the fridge!! ACK!!! 8:15am – 4 lunches to pack – can’t find the planned meal!!! DANG!!! But together we managed to get all 4 lunches packed quickly and efficiently in about 5 minutes!!! Everyone was happy and out the door on time!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

Some of the other changes have to do with me, and my personal habits and some of my mini goals!! However, as much as I wanted to write about all of that tonight… it has come to the time that I must submit to my defeat and wander off to bed!! Another day will dawn before I know it and simply I need more sleep!!! But before I wander away to la-la-land, I will leave you with a couple of pictures from this week!!

Another super yummy dinner of local foods, pork chops (not local), topped with homemade apple sauce, garlic pasta with fresh tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, and broccoli! Veggies all from Your Local Market Co-Op, along with the garlic!! So yummlicious!!

Friday Date Night Mocha Latte at Revel Caffe

Peter and I have been trying to have a regular “date” night, on Fridays!! What a great way to end the week, to spend an hour or two with my bestfriend and re-connect after a crazy week. Some people go out for elaborate dinners, drinks, dancing, movies, plays, we typically keep it simple, with a bit of free time spent together at Revel Caffe. Simple fits in our crazy busy lives, movies and all that would be fun too I guess, but what we enjoy is just being together and chatting, uninterrupted by kiddies!! The atmosphere at Revel is absolutely PERFECT for exact thing!! Thank you Anne and Dave for keeping the REVOLUTION alive!!
