Ugh it’s been a while since I have done a personal blog type posting … but it’s late now so I’m going to cheat and copy and paste from my Facebook page

The Life of a Working Mom of 5

Monday September 8th

–> Wake up at approximately 6:30am – shower & get dressed
–> Wake up girls by 7:00am – showers & get dressed
–> 7:30-8:30 am breakfast, lunches, dance bags packed, little girls dressed and ready to take big girls to school (tomorrow 3 little girls are home Olivia has no school) — Peter leaves for work at 8:00
–> 8:30 — Danielle walks to school *weather permitting* otherwise I drive her … drive Lacey to school … this includes packing up all 3 little girls
–> 8:45am drop Lacey off at school – go get a coffee – come home with little girls
–> 9:00 – 9:15am get home with little girls … unload them from the van get them into the house … this is an accomplishment !! Set them up with something to do … either the Wii, play in the backyard *weather permitting*, coloring whatever, typically Keisha at this point is almost ready for a morning nap
–> 9:30 – 11:45am –tidy up from breakfast – sweep the livingroom, diningroom,front hall
Tomorrow I have to make hummus & bake muffins for the girls lunches for the week. (I was too lazy to do it all on Sunday)
Start to prepare dinner … Roast Pork, Red Potatos and Coleslaw
During this time I will likely change 3-4 diapers, kiss an injured child, make a bottle for Keisha for a nap, get snacks, sippy’s etc.
–> 11:30 start to make something for lunch for the little girls. Have them eating by 11:45 .
–> 11:45-12:30 Lunch time – feed Keisha lunch, set Olivia and Mya up with luncn and cartoons – clean up
–> 12:30-2:45 – Naptime **if I’m lucky all 3 girls sleep at the same time**,
Peter comes home from work at 1:00 for lunch until 1:30, so I normally have something ready for him to eat, make coffee, hopefully chat with him for a few minutes. He goes back to work, I will throw the roast in the oven around 2:00. Then I will tidy up from lunch, pack Danielle’s snacks and dinner for dance. Hopefully get sometime to come online to see what’s happening here
–>2:45 – time to get the girls up from their naps to go pick Lacey up from school, if this goes well getting them loaded into the van quickly I normally stop and grab a coffee on my way to get her from school, if it doesn’t, I stop after school to get it.
–>3:10 – pick Lacey up from school … bring her and the little girls home, if weather permits Danielle just walks home at 3:30
–>3:40 – Danielle and I will leave for the studio for the night
I work at the studio to help offset the cost of the girls dance classes -
Mondays I am there from 4pm – 8pm.
Danielle has 3 classes on Monday nights. Lacey has 4 classes on Monday. I made arrangements for someone to pick her up for class and then I will carpool their child home at 10pm.

Basically that’s how my week goes …

Except for Tuesday and Thursday night’s instead of being at the dance studio I’m at the diner working from 4-9pm.

Wednesday and Friday instead of having all the girls home in the morning, Olivia goes to school, Keisha and Mya go to the babysitters, while I go to work at the diner from 9 – 2:30, run home have a quick shower, pick Lacey up from school, the girls from the sitter, Danielle if needed from school and then it’s off to the studio until 8pm. Lacey will also have soccer practice on Wednesday night between her dance classes!! HA!!

The only night the girls don’t dance is Friday – but I’m at the studio.
Sundays none of them dance, but I will be working at the diner.
Saturday’s Lacey assists with dance from 8:30am – 11:30, I work at the studio from 8am – 12 noon, Olivia has 2 classes, Mya has one class, Danielle will have 2 classes plus her solo lesson, after dance is finished for the day I will be working at the diner from 1pm – 9pm.

Drive-by Monday Moments

I’m going to do a speed version of our day … lol …. see if you can keep up!! HA!!

7:30am Wake Up

8:30am Everyone out of the house – CLEANING LADY DAY!! WOOT!!

9:00am Bank … McDonald’s for hashbrowns, hair appointment for Danielle & Olivia

9:30am pick Lacey up from soccer team sleepover – drop off twins to their house - take her for hair appointment

9:45-12:00 noon – Lacey, Danielle and Olivia get hair trimmed for back to school next week

12:00 – 12:30 – pick up some lunch for the girls

12:30-1:30 – take the girls for pictures – to go up at the diner

1:30 – 4:00 – nap time for Keisha, Mya, and Olivia – Lacey and Danielle tidy room , Danielle goes to visit next door neighbour who is moving out of town this weekend, Lacey computer time

4:00 – 5:00 – prepare dinner – chicken legs, boiled potatoes, BBQ’d Zuchinni

5:00- 6:00 – take Danielle to Exam Ballet Class, eat dinner, drop Peter off to referee

6:00 – 8:15 – pick Danielle up from Ballet, go watch Peter referee, pick Lacey up for Ballet Class

8:15-9:45 – hang out at dance studio waiting for Lacey to be done ballet

9:45 to now – bring Lacey home, have a coffee, chat with Peter, tell Lacey to go to bed, Peter goes to bed, I update my blog before heading off to bed for the night!! Ohhh I scrapped a layout for next weeks spotlight, check out what’s new at Oscraps, Facebook!!

So in a nutshell that was my day!! Before I head off to bed though I should tell you about this week’s Oscraps Spotlight ~~~

With all of the little ones headed back to school – I just love the smell of new crayons – and watching as several friend’s children began kindergarten last week, well, it’s brought to mind everything that was fun during that first year of class.

Do you remember Show & Tell? Getting up in front of your classmates and talking about something “cool” and “fun” like your favorite stuffed bear, or the rock you like to keep in your pocket.

So, in honor of that spirit of fun…along with an “Oscraps” twist….here’s the plan for this week.

It’s time for an Oscraps Show & Tell!

Saturday,Sunday, Monday & Tuesday MOMENTS

Saturday Moment – Saturday morning started for Peter and I at 6:00am … up shower and then off to the soccer pitch to field marshall. Peter’s shift was from 7:15 – 10:15 and mine was from 7:15 – 11:15 … then it was off to Danielle’s first game at 11:40 – which ended in a 0-0 tie. Then it was off to Lacey’s first game at 12:40, which ended 2-0 for us!! We had a short break at this point before Danielle’s next game at 3:10 which ended in a 5-0 loss for the girls. OUCH! Off to Lacey’s next game at 4:30 – another win 2-0!! GOOO LACEY 2 shutouts – the girls had a hour break before their third game of the day starting at 6:30pm which ended in a 2-2 tie … good enough to secure the under 16 team a place in the semi-finals on Sunday!!

Sunday Momemts – this was our first conflict of the weekend with the girls – Danielle’s 3 game started at 9:10 and Lacey’s semi-final game started at 9:30 – Peter went with Lacey’s team (since he’s the only coach), and I stayed and watched Danielle’s 3rd game – to which they lost again 4-0 My poor Danielle did not have a great weekend … mind you neither did her team as they failed to score a goal all throughout the tournament. UGH!! We made it over to Lacey’s game in time for the 2nd half …. to find the score tied 1-1 … as the mother of a goalie this is NOT what you want to see in the 2nd half of a semi-final game because if the game ends in a tie – they play 2 – 5 minute halves and if there is still no score – it’s onto the shootout. UGH!!! Which is where we ended up – and unfortunately lost. Lacey was pro-star in the net though she saved 2 of the shots and got a piece of the others – however her teammates failed to put their shots in the net. The girls played an absolutely INCREDIBLE game and had nothing to hang their heads about. After this game we had a short break before heading over to Danielle’s semi-final (they made it in by virture of one goal) … their result unfortunately was not great with a 4-0 loss again.

Monday Moments - normally Monday is cleaning lady day – so the girls and I were up and out of the house by 8:15am – only to find out around 11 … that yeah my Mom failed to let me know that she wasn’t coming … I wanted to DIE!! Lacey is babysitting all this week here at home (except Monday) because of the cleaning lady so she was at Sherrie’s house with the kids – so I took the 3 little girls over to Lacey while Danielle and I went and cleaned the van – and then Danielle went off to the dog groomers with Porkee. Lacey kept the girls for a couple of hours while I came home and cleaned the house from top to bottom in about 2 hours. UGH … I really hate cleaning … love the end result but damn I was tired yesterday. I just wanted to hang out and do nothing. No rest for the wicked though as they say!! After I picked the 3 little girls up from Lacey – I brought them home and put them all to bed so I could start to make dinner before SOCCER!! We left the house at 6:00 pm on route to Mount Forest for an 8:30pm game with Lacey’s team. OHHHH What a game!! HA! We drove through a dozzie of a storm with intense rain and lightening. Actually we were almost struck by lightening in the van … VERY VERY scary!! UGH!!!! The girls on Lacey’s team were in NO way shape or form into the game last night. They were playing the 12th place team (out of 12) LOL!! Let’s just say it was a comedy of errors to say the least … they won 6-5!! HA!! I also managed to lock the keys in the van — NIIIIIIIIIIICE!! Thank God for soccer dad’s with CAA!!

Tuesday Moments – and alas here we are to today – well it started with work at 8am – until 2:00 and then off to visit a friend … home for a shower and a quick bite to eat before we left with Danielle for her soccer game in Cambridge!! The girls are in a bit of a drought … They lost again tonight 2-0!! Danielle played a great game … but she can’t do it all – if her teammates don’t score it doesn’t matter how many saves she makes. So that brings us to NOW … and here I am!!

Wednesday Moments

Wednesday Moment … another day another game … and a tie!! Lacey’s team tied 4-4 tonight. She played a great game … until she took a ball off her head GAH $&%* – she’s fine … but I think she scared herself … she came out for the rest of the game at that point – but has practice tomorrow so she will get back on the horse again so to speak.

I don’t have much else to say tonight … I really wanna open up my psp or attempt cs3 ..lol and do some wordart so I’m gonna cut this short and see how I make out.

Sunday Moments

Sunday Moments … today was a great day – I didn’t get out of bed until 12:00!! **faint** What a lovely feeling to be able to sleep until your heart’s content!! LOL!! Actually I was up at 7:30 … but I told Peter to send Mya downstairs with Lacey and her girlfriend so we could go back to bed!! Peter and I went grocery shopping – our weekly CHORE!! LOL!! Do any of you have any idea what it’s like shopping for 7 people?? GAH … it’s a freaking chore that’s for sure!! But we have it down to a science and can get it done if we motor in under an hour.

Then Peter had to line a soccer game – so I went with him just to sit and watch, again another enitre 90 minutes of kid-free time!! WOW!! We came home and made dinner and then it was off to soccer practice. LOL … what would my life be like I wonder without soccer practice or dance classes??

Danielle and Olivia are going to dance camp again this week – which will make the week easier on Lacey for babysitting because she will only have to deal with Mya and Keisha while I’m at work. I’m working Tuesday-Friday this week and then next weekend the girls are in a soccer tournament here in town.

I have been working on making more wordart – I would really like to start designing but have a long long long way to go. LOL .. but one must start somewhere!! On that note … it’s almost time for the Sunday Edition of Freebie Alert!!

Wednesday’s Moment

Wednesday’s Moment … ugh another long day!! LOL!! Story of my life really don’t ya think? I didn’t have to work today because Lacey’s team had a game – and because the girls are in dance camp this week – I can’t work during the day since I don’t have a sitter for the little girls. My that was a bunch of rambling bubbling goo now wasn’t it!! HA! Today was cleaning lady day … woooot woooot wooot LOVE it!! I still don’t have a picture of my new hair … cause the camera is still at the studio TOMORROW!! LOL!!

On a positive note today … we have made some progress with Lacey — FINALLY!! We had a good talk last night with a friend of ours who is a chiropractor – about Lacey’s condition (she sees him on a regular issue for recurring back issues anyways) – his daughter also plays on Danielle’s soccer team. I took Lacey to see him today – he did some X-Rays to make sure that she didn’t have anything broken or fractured in her neck prior to adjusting her – he also did some standard neurological tests – having her follow a pen with just her eyes and tracing the pen along her face to make sure she could feel it. Both of these tests proved that she thankfully has no neurological damage – and the XRays showed that there was no fracture or breaks. THANK GOD!! The X Rays did however show that her 2nd vertibrae was tilted to the left quite a bit, thus causing pressure on her brain stem, which could be affecting her dizziness, nausea and headaches. So, we decided to go ahead with the adjustment, and immediately afterwards you could see a noticeable difference in her. WOOT!!! He also did a cranial (spelling??) adjustment – which she said felt AMAZING!! hehehe! This doesn’t necessarily mean that she is completely out of the woods yet … but we should now be able to tell whether she is suffering from POST-concussion symptoms or just a simple alignment problem. She is going to go to dance tomorrow morning and do a one on one stretch  with one of the teachers to see how she fairs. It will be a low impact stretch to test the waters. If that goes well, I will take her again on Friday for an adjustment and then let her go again to dance and do a higher impact stretch session or a light jog. Then Saturday she will attempt to do some one on one drills with cones and a ball weaving in and out to see how that goes, if that goes well, then Sunday she will be cleared to attempt a light practice with the team. To then hopefully have her able to play again by next Wednesday and if not Wednesday then by the weekend for her tournament. If all of these things aren’t able to happen then we are back to square one and just waiting it out until things settle some more. Please pray that she this adjustment was the thing she needed and will be able to get back to normal soon!!

On that note … I’m going to go and work on a little freebie for tomorrow and then hit the hay!! 21 day water challenge … I only managed about 48 ounces of water today … but nonetheless did drink some!!

Tuesday’s Moments

Tuesday’s Moments … ugh .. another day almost complete … why does time have to rush by so quick?? GAH! I got my hair done today … loving it !! I will get pictures tomorrow … cause Lacey left the camera at the dance studio this morning. BRAT!!! My poor Lacey is not having a good time with life right now … she is still suffering from her concussion. She can’t dance this week because of it and she tried to go to the studio today just to watch but had to come home because watching the girls dance made her stomach ill. She’s just not happy. Tomorrow night she’s supposed to be playing soccer but can’t – she’s just not thinking life is very fair right now. I feel so bad for her because I know how badly she wants to be able to play. Well I’m gonna go and work on some more wordarts now

Sunday’s Moment

Sunday’s Moment … good evening all, it’s been another long day. I worked this morning at 8:30am … but didn’t have to stay for the entire shift because it wasn’t all that busy. I came home and had a nap for a couple of hours … and then it was time to get my butt up and face the day. My darling husband made dinner … BBQ’d steak, baked potato, green beans and brocoli mmmm mmmm good!! I LOVE MY PETER!!

After dinner Peter took the 4 little girls to the park, while Lacey and I stayed home and began the preparations for tomorrow’s birthday celebration. What an adventure that was … lol…  We listened to Lacey’s iPod music while we worked … nothing like some rockin’ Disney music to help you out along the way. HA HA HA!

Our menu for tomorrow consists of:

Smoked Pork Chops, Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Spinach Salad, and Roasted Veggie Orzo Pasta Salad. Is it dinner time yet??? LOL!!

Opps completely forgot to mention my water intake for the day!!

Saturday’s Moment Just life!! :)

Saturday’s Moment … today my baby girl turned ONE!! How does that happen it seems like only yesterday, she was born.  I do believe she is going to be my wild child she is definitely full of spunk!! LOL!! I love you Keisha Marie!!!

Lacey is still struggling with symptoms from her concussion – dizziness and slight upset stomach – I’m hoping with more rest these things vanish quickly. She’s starting to get a little anxious about the fact that she’s not feeling well and it’s hard to watch her struggle.

Tomorrow is another work day for me …. GAH, I’m starting to dislike working!! LOL!! I suppose after having a year off for maternity leave I should just shut up and suck it up though!! HA!
